Announcing a 50% mid-year tuition discount off of the remaining prorated rate for new admissions in Kindergarten, and grades 1, 2 and 4.

There are wonderful things happening at St. Andrew’s Academy, yet we find ourselves mid-year with enrollment openings in Kindergarten as well as grades 1, 2 and 4. We’d like to fill these classes with students because we know that a student who starts at this school will flourish and that each new student contributes greatly to the classroom culture.

Enrollment

The high quality of the St. Andrew’s Academy program is directly related to the high caliber of the Academy’s faculty and staff. To recruit and retain excellent teachers, St. Andrew’s Academy seeks to create an excellent teaching environment, including attractive financial compensation. The School is committed to maintaining small class sizes, which allow talented teachers to meet the individual needs of all students – students who represent a range of academic skills and abilities. The commitments to support excellent teachers and maintain small class sizes frame much of the Academy’s annual budget expenses.

The budget of St. Andrew’s Academy is largely supported by tuition. In addition, all families are encouraged to further support the school in a variety of ways including participating in the annual auction fundraiser, contributing volunteer time and talents, and providing financial gifts to the Academy, which are tax deductible. The philosophy that guides the balancing of the expenses and income and the setting of tuition, is informed by the understanding that for many families the St. Andrew’s Academy tuition, or tuitions, is a large portion of the family budget.

For the 2008-2009 school year tuition is as follows:

Kindergarten – $7,695
First through Fifth Grades – $8,295

Students who join the academy midyear will have their tuition prorated. St. Andrew’s Academy makes available a limited amount of financial aid based on financial need.

Applications
Prospective parents are asked to contact Ed Cavin, Head of School (651-762-9122), prior to submitting an application. The purpose of this contact is to clarify our mission and values and to discuss parental goals. Applications are available from the school and are online. School Visits
School and classroom visits are welcome. Please contact our main office at 651-379-5299 to make an appointment for a visit.

School Records and Teacher Recommendation Forms

Once a student has applied, and the parents have completed a Release of Information Authorization form, the following records are forwarded to St. Andrew’s Academy:

        * Current teacher recommendations
        * Copies of records and reports from the child’s most recent school
        * Any other education assessment and Individual Education Plans (IEP)

Admission Guidelines
Consideration for admission to St. Andrew’s Academy will be based upon the application’s profile. Additional consideration is given to siblings of enrolled students and siblings of alumni. Further consideration will also be given to maintain an ethnically diverse and gender balanced grade when possible.

Admission Decisions
Admission decisions will be made following a careful assessment as to whether a student will likely be successful and thrive in the St. Andrew’s Academy environment.

St. Andrew’s Academy retains the right to determine whether or not to admit or re-enroll a student. The Admissions Committee including the Head of School, makes the final admission decisions.
