 ENRICHMENT CLUSTER

When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world.

Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.
     - Patanjali, 1st to 3rd Century

Our Beliefs

Students are more invested in their education when they have choices in activities that speak to their individual gifts and interests.  It is our goal that each student at St. Andrew's Academy not only recognizes their individual strengths and talents but celebrates and finds ways in which to share them with the world.  We believe that each child is unique and learning experiences must take into account the wide range of abilities, interests, and learning styles.  Enrichment clusters enable us to better fulfill our mission of providing engaging, challenging and enjoyable learning opportunities by offering exploratory opportunities designed to expose children to a variety of topics not covered in the general curriculum.

Enrichment clusters are cross-grade, student-centered activities where students choose classes based on their individual interests.  Cluster classes typically run from six to eight weeks for about one hour per week. Catalogs with class descriptions are sent home prior to the start date and students have the opportunity to list their top three choices.

The following is a description of the enrichment cluster classes offered during the
2006-07 school year:
